Q. What is Digifit™ Connect?
A: Digifit Connect, developed by iTMP Technology, is a wireless bridge that collects data from a variety of health and fitness sensors such as heart rate monitors, cycling speed and cadence sensors and power meters. It connects to and sends data to Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch, enabling iTMP’s suite of Digifit fitness applications and turning your iPhone or iPod touch into the ultimate health and fitness metrics monitor.

Q. What is the size of Digifit Connect?
A: Digifit Connect measures approximately 1 inch in length, 1.5 inches in height, and .25 inches wide.

Q. What sensors and transmitters does Digifit Connect communicate with?
A: Digifit Connect is compatible with a growing list of products and sensors as follows

Heart: Digifit Connect is 100% digital and operates at 2.4 GHz (digital, longer range than analog). We use ANT+ technology and are compatible with the Garmin transmitter (010-10997-00) as well chest straps sold with the Garmin Edge 305 or 705 and the Forerunner 50, 305, or 405. In addition, we are compatible with certain “ANT+” products from the member companies of the ANT+ Alliance.

Speed: We are compatible with the Garmin GSC10 and with certain “ANT+” products from the member companies of the ANT+ Alliance.

Cadence: We are compatible with the StarTrac Spinning® cadence sensor, the Garmin GSC10 and with certain “ANT+” products from the member companies of the ANT+ Alliance.

Power: We are compatible with the Quarq CinQo and certain “ANT+” products from the member companies of the ANT+ Alliance.

For a list of ANT+ alliance member companies, see the ANT+ interoperability matrix at http://www.thisisant.com/pages/ant/interoperability-matrix.

Q. Will Digifit Connect work with an original first generation iPhone?
A: Yes.

Q. I'm receiving no heart rate reading or an abnormal heart rate reading from my heart rate transmitter. What could be causing this?
A. There can be several reasons for abnormal or irregular readings. The most common is poor contact between the skin and the electrodes of the transmitter. Here are some tips to help ensure good contact: (1) Moisten the grooved electrode areas on the back of the transmitter. At the beginning of the exercise session your skin may be dry and the moisture will help ensure better contact. When you start to sweat, the contact will improve because the salt in the sweat conducts the electrical signals very well. (2) Tighten the elastic strap of the transmitter. If the transmitter is loose, the movement of the electrodes disturbs the detection of the ECG signal. (3) The type of the ECG signal slightly varies from person to person. The form of the ECG signal can depend on the shape of the chest, the anatomical location and position of the heart, position of the electrodes and the amount of body fat. If the ECG signal is weak, disturbances can more easily spoil the signal. Find the best contact by turning the
transmitter left or right, or place it lower or higher. Finally, if you have a watch that displays readings from your heart rate transmitter, we recommend that you use it to verify that your transmitter is sending an ECG signal.

Q. Is there an API or SDK available for Digifit Connect?
A: We do not currently offer any developer programs that document interface or integration to Digifit Connect. If you are interested, please contact us at info@itmptech.com.

Q. Can I listen to my iPod at the same time I am using one of your applications?
A. You can listen to iPod music with our applications if you start your music playlist prior to beginning your workout. Apple currently does not allow third party iPhone apps like ours to run in the background when an Apple app or service is running, like iPod operation, taking a phone call or texting. You can play music while you are using our app; you just cannot make any modifications to the playlist or the app will be shut down by the iPhone. If you want to work out with music, we recommend that you start your iPod, select a playlist, and then start the Digifit iPhone app and your workout.
